Rev David Lewis - Minister   Mrs Maggie Prisk - Administrator

My name is David Lewis and I am the Baptist minister in the Stantonbury Ecumenical Pastorate, with special responsibility for Christ Church. I have been minister at Christ Church for nearly five years. I have had previous pastorates in Essex, West Sussex and Leicestershire.
I was born in Northamptonshire, but spent much of my childhood in Loughton, Essex, on the edge of Epping Forest. When I was sixteen the family moved to Leamington Spa where I met Margie, my wife. We've been married for 42 years. We have two grown-up children (Hannah, married to Tim, and Phil, married to Liz) and seven grandchildren.
Before training for ministry in Oxford I did an economics degree at Loughborough, and then worked in accountancy for a couple of years.
Margie and I enjoy living in Milton Keynes, and walking the various redways and parks around the city. I also like reading, listening to music, and cooking - especially curries.
.

We moved to Milton Keynes in 1981. I worked as a childminder for several years and for various Charities. I am a Baptist Lay minister and frequently lead worship at Christ Church and at other churches in the partnership.

My responsibilities as administrator include management of the building and assisting Adrian as treasurer.

Dr Adrian Prisk - Treasurer

I have been a member of Christ Church since we moved to Milton Keynes in 1981. I am a retired GP and have been treasurer since 2009 when I also joined the leadership group.

My other roles are playing the piano and singing to lead worship and managing the lettings and routine maintenance of the building.
Mrs Susan Gander  - Worship Coordinator

I have lived in Milton Keynes since 1980 when I started worshipping at Christ Church.

After working in local schools as a teaching assistant I’m now retired. I enjoy travelling, spending time with my grandchildren and pottering in the garden – although I’m better at cutting things down than getting them to grow.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello (David)

Cross John3-16

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We currently meet on Facebook (COVID PLAN) for our Sunday Service starting at 10.30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ready yourself for making the most of your time before the service begins.

Plan your journey:

Open Google Maps

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10.30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of sung worship, led by our band. We typically have 2 or 3 songs lasting approximately 20 minutes. Sometimes a person might pray out loud or read a small passage from the Bible. Sometimes people share things that they believe God is saying to the whole church family. This might seem strange the first time you hear it but it’s all part of our connecting with God. We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church. One of our leaders will then give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We then finish with a final worship song. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.
