Christ Church Carol Service, Sunday 21st December - 4th Sunday in Advent @ 10.30am.

You are invited to come to Christ Church on Sunday 21st December when our Carol service will be led by Maggie Prisk.

The readings are Luke 1:26-38, Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 2:8-14, Luke 2:15-20, Matthew 2:1-12 and John 1:1-5 &10-14.

This service will be streamed to our Facebook page, using the link below. You don’t need to belong to Facebook in order to follow the service.

24th December – Midnight in Bethlehem service @ 9pm (21.00)
This service will be led by Rev Phil Dunning.

Theme: “Christmas night with the shepherds”
The readings are from Isaiah 9:2 & 6-7, Luke 2:1-20 and John 1:1-14.

25th December - Christmas day celebration service at 10.30 am. This service will be led by Maggie Prisk.

Dates for your diary!

The Wednesday morning Drop-in 24th December
The Drop-in will take place on Wednesday 24th December at 10am as normal.
The Wednesday morning Drop-In meets at church between 10:00 and 11:30 am.
Refreshments will be available.
The drop-in is also available online via our Facebook group, for those who wish to meet remotely.
There will not be a Drop-in on Wednesday 31st December.
Instead, we will be holding a Drop-in with a Bring-and-Share lunch on Thursday January 1st, from 11am until 2pm.

Under 5s
Under 5s meet from 10:00 to 11:30 am in the church hall. (Term time only)
We will break up for the Christmas break after our meeting on 18th December.
We will restart on Thursday 15th January 2026.

Coffee and Cake at Christ Church 17th January 2026
Our next coffee and cake morning will be on 17th January 2026. Come along for a pleasant morning and a chat over a cup of coffee and some cake, between 9.30 and 11.30 am.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello (David)

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We currently meet on Facebook (COVID PLAN) for our Sunday Service starting at 10.30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ready yourself for making the most of your time before the service begins.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10.30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of sung worship, led by our band. We typically have 2 or 3 songs lasting approximately 20 minutes. Sometimes a person might pray out loud or read a small passage from the Bible. Sometimes people share things that they believe God is saying to the whole church family. This might seem strange the first time you hear it but it’s all part of our connecting with God. We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church. One of our leaders will then give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We then finish with a final worship song. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.
